Teocalli Wilderness Holdings
Wild places, kept wild.
About Teocalli Wilderness Holdings
Named for a sacred mountain rising 13,208 feet in Colorado's Elk Mountains, Teocalli Wilderness Holdings is a private holding company built around a single conviction — that some places are most valuable left alone.
We exist to acquire wild land quietly, hold it patiently, and return what has been altered to something closer to whole.
Our work is guided by four core values:
Patience, recognizing that land moves on geological time;
Restraint, ensuring the smallest footprint is almost always the right one;
Continuity, holding for generations rather than quarters; and
Education, helping others listen to what wild places teach.
Through three quiet commitments — Acquire, Restrain, and Restore — we seek out parcels of ecological and aesthetic consequence, often adjacent to public lands under pressure, and bring them into private stewardship.
We build only what is necessary, maintaining or removing existing structures as appropriate.
The true work of stewardship unfolds year by year: decommissioning unused roads, removing legacy structures, and seeding native flora to return land to itself.
We hold for future generations, practicing the patient work of tending to the land and listening to its needs.
Our Stewardship Services
Land Acquisition & Stewardship
We identify and acquire parcels of ecological and aesthetic consequence, often adjacent to public lands under pressure, bringing them into private stewardship for long-term protection and management across Colorado and beyond.
Land Restoration & Rehabilitation
Through patient restoration work, we return previously developed land to its most natural state. This includes decommissioning unused roads, removing legacy structures, and seeding native vegetation to restore ecological integrity.
Wilderness Education & Community Engagement
We create parklike environments and educational opportunities in and around public lands, helping others understand and appreciate wild spaces while building support for wilderness conservation and stewardship for future generations.
